While the focus in the contemporary board game scene is often centered on the highly thematic or brain-burning economic engines, there’s a growing awareness for older games like crokinole and pinchnut of the abstract or dexterity-based persuasion. Crokinole in particular has gained traction in the hobby game scene in recent years, especially in light of it featuring as the final competition in PAX East’s 2012 Omegathon.
